Green-winged Teal at Hook

Like Richard & Morris I too did my WeBS count at Hook/Sprinkle Pill this afternoon.  Pleased to report that the drake Green-winged Teal was still present, following the sighting on my last WeBS in January (has anyone been since?).  Again, it was at the mouth of Sprinkle Pill, where the majority of birds congregate on my count.  Other highlights included 11 Pintail, 4 Greenshank, 149 Redshank, 28 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit, 602 Lapwing, 550 Dunlin, 9 Grey Plover, 36 Shoveler, 72 Wigeon and 153 Shelduck.  It was a lovely still afternoon, the call of a Black-tailed Godwit in flight was superb: if you haven't walked this stretch of the Cleddau I can thoroughly recommend it (wellies essential).
