A green ringed Med Gull briefly at Goodwick last Thursday had been ringed at the breeding colony on Pionierinsel island in N Germany in May 09.In June 11 it was at a colony on a flat roof in Hamburg, c 30 km away, where the Pionierinsel colony had decamped after attacks by a rogue dog. In May 12 it was back nesting at Pionierinsel.
The Pembs sighting is the only one away from the breeding grounds.
This is the second Pionierinsel bird we've seen locally.
