Yesterday it was merlins today Peregrines. 3 sightings all looked different birds - a big female, juvenile and another at the Gann taking an unsuccessful (for the peregrine) swipe at a teal. It slowly drifted up and down the length of the pools causing much panic before gaining speed and coming in incredibly low over the water. A pair of teal got up and the peregrine snatched at the duck but either couldn't hold it or just missed it, anyway the teal dived for cover in the reeds and the peregrine settled on the trees above - waiting for another opportunity. 5 wheatear St Anns, 2 chiffchaff Watwick otherwise very quiet.
