A look at the Teifi estuary this morning was worthwhile with 10 Common Sandpipers from the old Jewsons to the Webley.
A single Whimbrel was with the Curlew.
Poppit dunes were sheltered from the strong wind and plenty of flies were around for the many Willow Warblers and Chiffs to feed on.
Several flocks of Goldfinches flew over as also noticed yesterday at Mwnt. Further evidence to suggest that these are migrants was collected when I caught 14 in the garden this afternoon all carrying fat and heavier than my local birds, so ready to travel somewhere.
