Round Up

From Steve and Julia, St Brides to Little Haven - A lovely afternoon walking the cliff path, highlight was a grasshopper warbler which landed a few yards from us and sang non stop for well over a minute. Just past the small pool on your right you come to a field with a few remains of an old building, we counted 12 wheatears here. In addition there were 10+ whimbrel, numerous whitethroat, 2x l. whitethroat, reed warblers, blackcaps, chiffchaff, stonechats.

From Carol Swain and Bruce Paley - We had a sighting of a Cuckoo, below Plumstone mountain.  Heard It's first  call at about 11.30 may 6th. It was sitting on a fence post.  The bird continued to call for the next few hours.

From John Freeman - Did the circular walk from Dale to St.Anne`s Head and back into the village via the road. Saw plenty of Whitethroats (Photo above) displaying,several chiffchaffs, only the one pair of Stonechats seen on the walk and that was near Watwick.Sedge Warbler showed well near the Blockhouse plus several Linnets. On the road back to Dale, Several wheatears in the fields on our left
