St Davids Hd am

A light movement of hirundines today, many fewer than yesterday and approximately equal numbers of Swallows and House Martens (a ratio also noted by J&M.B. at Pwllderi) and a single Swift. A Yellow Wagtail flew north over the Gesail and two Arctic terns also flew overland, to the north. There were 4 Spotted Flycatchers new-in (another 2 and 2 Male Cuckoos on the Airfield). A dozen Redpolls through, of which about 6 seen well. All were clearly Lessers, as have been all those seen this year in a light spring passage (male below). A real contrast to last spring's heavy, prolonged passage which included quite a few big, pale birds which appeared to be Commons (Mealies). My first young Robin today in the Withies - I usually see them in March. Two red Kites later: a ragged bird at Solva and a smarter one at Sealyham.
