Merganser was still there but took off & headed out into the bay within 5 mins. I counted 20 Whimbrel & 11 Dunlin on the shoreline, before a Peregrine strike (failed) scattered everything. 1 of the Dunlin which appeared to be the target actually splashed into the sea to avoid being caught.
