Gann & Plumstone

The pool was devoid of bird life thanks to a family using it as a watery playground.  I'd love to see this site offered better protection and conservation management in my lifetime.....4 bait diggers weren't helping on the shore either!  No surprise then that the best birds were up the river above the wooden footbridge.  11 Black-tailed Godwits (from MM presumably) along with 7 Dunlin and 2 spanking Sanderling.  On the beach at low tide 6 Whimbrel and 2 Curlew.  4 Shelduck scattered around still look like they have yet to attempt to nest.  A breeding plumage Little Egret was by the wooden bridge but quickly disappeared.

Earlier a walk around Plumstone Mountain produced 2 Yellowhammer as well as breeding Skylark, Meadow Pipit and a flyover Lesser Redpoll.  Nice.
