Having known for several years that Porthgain quarry was a site for Little Owls, a visit at last this morning was rewarded with good views. It was sitting on the cliff top, ducking as House Martins swooped low over its head and was calling too.
A pair of Wheatear were also in the quarry.
On the way home, a couple of Yellowhammer were seen at Glanrhyd along the road to Pantgwyn Quarry.
Good to catch up with two species that are scarce in the county.
