Marloes Mere

I found the Glossy West of the Britton hide, with a group of Coots & Moorhens - with siblings - 2 Foxes appeared out of the surrounding juncus & picked their way through the mud past everything, just 3-4 metres away. The Coots made some small amount of noise, but with no firm footing & the element of suprise gone the Foxes didn`t appear interested, however they vanished into the reeds & things quietened down. Could be different after dark though. I was kicking myself for having left my camera at home, 2 Foxes & a Glossy Ibis in the same frame went begging! Also in the same part of the Mere - a single Lapwing  (last year`s loner returning?) a pair of Teal. 7 Swifts feeding with some 10 - 15 House Martins, 1 Kestrel over & 9 Chough at the cliffs   Good news about the expanding Kite population.
