not everyonme may be aware of this but the massive increase in the popularity of Falconry and the money that can be made from breeding birds for Falconers has resulted in a whole host of hybrids being bred.
I am told there is a place near Carmarthen where someone is breeding amongst other things Gyr Falcons as a cottage industry. Every now and again falconers lose their birds. Sadly these days,we may never be sure that any hawk or falcon we see is a wild bird.
