Mervyn and I caught up with the Black-tailed Godwits at the Mere at lunchtime. Somewhat to my surprise a second count revealed 11 birds, not 10, plus a very striking summer plumage Dunlin. Rather irritatingly, the Godwits were chased away by a very aggressive Moorhen, and were last seen flying high towards the Gann.
Several House Martins seen drinking in the Mere; I also had 3-4 over the Deer Park this morning. And a nice group of 5 Swifts.
