Two red kites over Withybush airfield on Tuesday and then two more between Dinas Cross and Newport the same afternoon. at least one of the second lot which were both tatty adults had tags but could not make them out.
Fourteen Magpies in my garden was a record , love em or hate em they are fascinating to watch. It seems the other Corvids hate them as yesterday I watched both Crow Rook and Jack's trying to beat up on the Mag's. On each occasion the initial aggression of the one would be turned back with other magpies coming in to back up the one being picked on. One Jack got quite a beating whereas the larger Rook and Crows were pushed back into stand off. On several occasions the Mags manoeuvrability was a deciding factor in turning the tables on the aggressor!
