A nice surprise this morning was three Whooper Swans in the Trehill Farm fields. They were initially rather well hidden in the second field to the East of the Car park, but at lunchtime we saw them from Marloes Mere.
In the valley we are starting to get a build up of migrant Song Thrushes and Blackbirds. A handful of Chaffinches and Goldfinches, plus single Reed Buntings and House Sparrows.
Off Wooltack Point was a good feeding flock of gulls in the North-flowing tide, and at least 3 porpoises. A dozen Common Scotor flew South, almost under our feet!
At the Gann at high tide 7 Redshank, a Greenshank, 13 Teal, a Little Egret, and a dense flock of at least 10 Dabchicks that all dived in unison when in walked up.
