After a few very dull weeks of garden birdwatching at Orlandon Kilns, enlivened only by the annual autumn visit of a Grey Wagtail, yesterday our local mini-flock of 3 Blue Tits, 3 Chaffinches and a Goldcrest was joined by 9 Long-tailed Tits and a Chiffchaff. And this morning, the hangers-on were a brown-headed Blackcap and a very smart Lesser Whitethroat. They both fed in a small apple tree outside the kitchen window and gave terrific views. Then later I heard the (apparently now resident) Cettis Warbler singing loudly from the marsh. Not bad for November!
