A mid-late afternoon walk for a low-tide count at Hook. LOTS of birds. Highlights included: 624 Teal, 103 Wigeon, 9 Shoveler, 24 Shelduck, 18 Mallard, 41 Greylag Geese, 150+ Canada Geese, 679 Lapwing, 750 (est) Golden Plover, 81 Redshank, 2 Greenshank, 12 Black-tailed Godwit, 465 Dunlin, 71 Curlew and 4 Little Egret. It was lovely and still, a welcome break (albeit shortlived) from the gales. Try as I might I could not make it 2 Green-winged Teals in a day!
