There was a large female sparrowhawk at Simpson Cross today displaying an innovative approach to hunting. The bird flew across the road, around a house, reappearing on the far side before crossing the road again and flying around the next house; apparently using the houses as substitute hedges. There was a red kite over Stephen's Ford on the B4239 this morning.
