Storm Driven Seabirds

A visit to Newgale this morning.  Nice views of the Bonxie coasting along the shoreline  and the adult Kumleins at Brandy Brook end with at least 6 immature Med Gulls and 4 adults but wind made it difficult to find anything and to then keep in touch with individuals.

Dead birds north of the lower main car park were - 29 Razorbills, 17 Guillemot, 4 Puffin, 4 Kittiwakes, a Gannet and a Fulmar.  A dead bull Seal added to the variety.
On Broad Haven - 2 Razorbills, 6 Guillemot and a Kittiwake.
At Nolton Haven - 3 Razorbill and 4 Guillemot.

All the intact dead birds were very emaciated - some quite old and predated but many freshly dead.

At both Nolton and Newgale numbers of immature and adult Kittiwake along the shoreline with the other gulls with a few more on the marsh.  Rather few BHGulls getting their brown head yet.
