Sunny Fishguard and beyond

At 9am, Fishguard Harbour was like a mirror, with 9 Turnstones at the flagpoles and a G.C.Grebe sitting on it's reflection. A G.N.Diver paddled over towards the ferry berth where a R.T.Diver and a scoter were preening. 2 Razorbills came swimming along the shore in front of us and 2 Shags were fishing below the lorry park.
We arrived at Newgale midday to witness so many gulls bathing on the marsh, the scene was almost blinding in the bright sunshine. We were fortunate to see the Kumliens gull and 2 Med. gulls.
On to Dowrog where a Ringtail suddenly appeared at 2pm and quickly dropped into the western end by the fields. At Puncheston another Ringtail came sailing over the conifers at about 3:45 but we lost it at the end of the patch of Larch. We waited until 4:45 but it didn't re-appear. 2-3,000 Starlings went over(possibly more) so all in all, a fantastic day, and a real boost after the grim conditions the county has endured since Christmas.
