Singing (purring) Turtle Dove near Llandshipping Quay

Whilst walking our weekly butterfly transect along the minor road near Landshipping Quay this afternoon, it was nice to see a turtle dove in a patch of blackthorn scrub - probably the first I've seen in the Landshipping area. It was also repeatedly uttering a typical low purring call - so probably  a male. Not sure what the nearby local collared doves made of it. It's been many years since I heard a turtle dove singing in Pembs. The last one I recall purring away was in scrub near Lamphey along the Lower Lamphey road back in the mid-1980s. I guess this is a loan bird still on migration but it would be nice if it stayed around.
