While I was doing the WeBS count in Llangwm Pill
late Sunday afternoon a green sandpiper flew in and very obligingly settled on a
rock directly opposite from where I was standing, allowing me to observe it
fairly closely for 5 minutes before flying off with a rapid,
erratic fashion in a westerly direction.
The 3 black swans are still in residence and still
spooking the two mutes. They are quite vocal with a soft, sweet,
almost plaintive 'whoo' call and I've seen them on several occasions
closely grouped while participating in a
neck stretching display with beaks pointing vertically upwards.
