Dale

Had a wander from the village out to Dale Fort and back in the hope of finding a late autumn waif.  No such luck, but there were a lot of birds around: 2 tit flocks with plenty of Long-tails, several Goldcrest and also a Chiffchaff.  A Jay & a Great Spotted Woodpecker, and plenty of thrushes - a couple of Redwing, a Mistle Thrush, several Song Thrush (definitely more around than usual) and quite a few Blackbirds.

Around at the Gann on the falling tide, the pre-roost gull gathering held at least 16 Mediterranean Gulls (14 adults, 1 2CY and 1 1CY).  One of the adults had a red darvic ring but it was part-submerged in water and the light was poor so couldn't read it.  4 Goldeneye on the lagoon including an adult drake.

Paul's 3 Firecrests impressive given I haven't seen a single one during the autumn anywhere on the coast.
