A few nice birds today. A cryptic female bullfinch hiding in the willows was a first for the year (scarce out here), a cracking male black redstart was loitering in boulders on the west coast this afternoon as we put out more stormie boxes. A small arrival of winter thrushes with a fieldfare, 2 redwing and at least 2 song thrush. Snipe numbers have been increasing slowly with a min of 4 yesterday. At least 20 chough making use of the island today. The cliffs were alive with fulmars.
