I must have been at Kilpaison shortly before Richard C this morning - men in hi-viz jackets on the Kilpaison shore but around 600 wigeon in the bay and along the southern side. Earlier I'd been to see the wigeon spectacular on the Pembroke River (remarked on by Dave A on 20 October) on the stroke of high tide - 5340 in one sweep from a vantage point just east of Goldborough Pill at SM942042, probably a lot more round the corner in the Bentlass direction. Good to see after recent concerns.
To get there (short of walking the shore from Bentlass) you have to ford the Pill which is rather full right now, and keep an eye on some wild-looking horned cattle in the field with the pylons.
