Preselis & Llys-y-fran
A Red Kite just north of Crundale and a ringtail Hen Harrier over the road near Tufton were a nice start to an afternoon out and about. Decided to head out on the Preseli ridge and after a 30 minute walk and then another 30 minutes of searching I was delighted to hear the familiar call of a Snow Bunting as it flew in from the east somewhere, went over my head and landed somewhere a little to the west of Foel Feddau. Also a Skylark here, and on the walk back Kestrel, Raven and Bullfinch. Spent half hour at Coed Glynaeron, a nice Redpoll but not the hoped for Crossbill. Finished with a very nice gull roost at Llys-y-fran, could really have done with some more pairs of eyes! Highlights the adult Ring-billed Gull, at least 2 Yellow-legged Gulls (adult & 2CY), and a minimum of 7 Mediterranean Gulls (4 adults, 1 3CY, 2 2CY).
