North Pembs...Purple Sandpipers....

Cliff Benson led a Sea Trust walk on the Fishguard Outer Breakwater today - four Purple Sandpipers were the avian highlight.

Over to the Teifi where little seems to be changing. The two Bar-tailed Godwits were feeding amongst c130 Wigeon on the central sand banks. The Lapwing flock c6-700 today is spending most of the time on the river not on the surrounding pastures which is unusual.

Onto the Marshes for dusk, and Starlings are still pouring in around 430pm to roost in the reeds at the end of the Creek, c10k tonight. Always nice to hear one of the Cetti's Warbler's giving a brief burst of song. Hopefully a good number of  these wintering warblers will make it to the breeding season..
We encountered at least 41 Cetti's on the marsh in 2014, see all our Teifi Ringing Group totals and also a new piece about our Siskins in North Pembs.
