Marvellous light today. The female marsh harrier was hunting up and down the reedbed. Only 20 golden plover today but the 70-strong curlew flock seems a fixture. After years of only hearing water rail at the Corse, one got up in front of me in the fen meadow and flew a short distance to the hedge bank. A Cetti's was singing at one o'clock from the hide. There seemed to have been an influx of song thrushes across the farm.
