Castlemartin and Angle

Castlemartin Corse was quiet this morning with just c.200 Lapwing, 120 Golden Plover and 72 Curlew. A Buzzard flying low over the edge of the reed bed flushed 40+ Snipe. No wildfowl to be seen despite a fair amount of water in front of the reeds by the hide.

At Kilpaison a couple of hours before high tide there were similar numbers of birds to Bob and Annie's visit on Christmas Day - 62 Brents, 1500+ Wigeon, at least 6 Pintail, 45 Ringed Plover, 160 Dunlin, 5 Redshank, 36 Oystercatcher, 38 Curlew, 2 Sanderling and a 2nd Winter Med Gull.
