Castlemartin Corse - Garganey

A male garganey was with about 40 teal on the Corse this morning. The flock was fairly restless, flying up and down from time to time, but settled on the reedy fringe of the open water 50-75 metres upstream of the hide (observable with care through the hedge). A female merlin flew over the reedbed. The snipe seem to have gone, replaced by displaying meadow pipits.
