Castlemartin Corse

In the large field sloping down to Starman's Hall, 140 golden plover were feeding. They were so well camouflaged I got quite close before I even noticed them, and rather than fly they just walked away a short distance as I passed. I photographed a similar sized flock that hung around in the same area in March 2016. 2 chough were on the seaward side of the bridleway.

In the remnants of the standing water by the hide, 60 teal, 20 shoveler, 15 mallard and 2 wigeon, with water rail calling in the reeds. A female sparrowhawk was hunting nearby.
