Hen harrier(s), Lapland bunting and more Pintail...
Walking onto Dale airfield at 3pm, a Ring tail Hen harrier greeted me, as it drifted away across the racing circuit. A Lapland bunting was scurrying around the edge of main run way not far from the crossroads. And 60 Snipe on a pretty wet walk. Arriving at Marloes mere around 4.30pm the first bird I saw was probably the same Hen harrier, as it flushed c60 Teal, 50 Wigeon, 10 Gadwall, 10 Shoveler and 5 Pintail (4m, 1 f) and 40 Snipe. A Chiffchaff in willows in front of Britton hide. Quick look at the Gann, 42 Dunlin, 22 Bar-tailed godwit, 14 Turnstone, 7 Grey plover. No Knot this evening. Very few gulls before I left. Yesterday there were 7 Med gulls including a ringed bird, Green on lower left, metal ring upper right.
