Martin’s Haven

A Water Rail flushed near the stream at lunchtime. Looking at recent trailcam pictures, there has been a Water Rail present pretty much every day in the last month.

And probably a dozen Chiffchaffs along the valley, especially in the scrub directly below LockLey Lodge, as it (temporarily) cleared and warmed up mid afternoon. As with yesterday’s Firecrest, one of the Chiffchaffs had a really distinctive “pollen horn”; until yesterday, I thought these were just amazing features on birds that Rich and Giselle catch on Skok and show on their blog!
