Out and about

Lovely afternoon out west with Paul. Pretty quiet birdwise, certainly no major discovery to report but always a chance if you keep looking. 3 Chiffchaff in the Vicarage, in Dale, and seemed to be more Coal tits around than usual. Nice to see a Kingfisher back at the Gann, also 12 Redshank, 6 Greenshank and 4 Barwits. But no small waders. Chiffchaff here as well. Over at Marloes Mere 4 Goldcrest in front of Britton Hide and a Pintail mixing with first Wigeon of the autumn. Teal numbers have increased. Deer Park and Martins Haven were quiet. A young Kestrel appeared to be having a squabble with an adult - time to find it's own territory perhaps and a juv Merlin dashing low over the gorse.
