A What?? I hear you say! Dear readers please indulge me while I explain. Some of you may know that a Gibson Hummingbird is a guitar - very, very expensive & one day I shall have one or hope to, in fact I've wanted - nay desired one of the beauties for years. Occasionally on my forays thro' the various music channels I see some famous Rock'n'Roller knocking out a nice acoustic song playing pentatonic melodies with aplomb on a "Hummingbird".
Hoopoes!! Yes them. All my life I've never seen one properly. Complete, out in the open, full frontal.
Always a parting shot as they vanish, or "if you were here two minutes ago you would've seen it" need I say more? like a beautiful "Hummingbird" they are the proverbial holy grail to me, always just out of reach whilst I enviously admire those who own one, or who rack up Hoopoe sightings with consummate ease, no doubt the present bird will be the same. Ah well, back to "Stairway to heaven" then........
