Mandarin - Fishguard

This stunning male Mandarin near the river mouth in Lower Town Fishguard was one of the unexpected highlights for me of a brilliant morning of birding.

It was also great to see the Dipper there

Earlier on, a singing male Redstart was near the quarries on the path out of Rosebush, a Tree Pipit was singing and a Cuckoo could be heard in the distance.

At Glynaeron Wood, there was plenty of bird life, including a number of Siskin, a Crossbill and a Greater Spotted Woodpecker and two more Cuckoos could be heard.

At Pengelli Forest, a brief visit gave me a sight of a female Pied Flycatcher and a Treecreeper.
