Out and about

A few recent observations. Tight ball of 30 screaming Swift over Hwest castle around 10pm Saturday, make the most of them while we can, soon be on their way. A Yellowhammer song drifted into the open car window by Hasguard Cross, near Talbenny in the week. Teal drake and pair Shoveler on Marloes Mere, a couple of Dunlin flying around the only waders. Two Kestrel (silhouetted but looked like juveniles) and a Peregrine around the mere Wednesday evening. Preseli woods: quite a few excited Crossbills, family group of 4 Willow tit, 3 Spotted flycatcher and 2 groups of 3 and 4 young Redstart, like the Swift will soon be heading south.
