Dale Airfield & Gann

Finally caught up with the juvenile Dotterel lunchtime today, in the favoured 'wader field' to the west of the main runways.  Also there 16 Ringed Plover.  Less passerines around than recent days, but still 9 Wheatear, and a really good passage of Swallows all heading south-east.

At the Gann the highlight was a minimum of 34 Rock Pipit, I suspect the highest count I've ever had here.  Waders included single Bar-tailed & Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Ringed Plover, 14 Dunlin, 10 Turnstone & the 1CY Great-crested Grebe has moved on to the lagoon.

The Landshipping Quay duck looks suspiciously like a Blue-winged Teal if the apparent facial cresent is a true reflection of the bird in the field... It's a long time since the one & only Pembrokeshire record on Skokholm - 17th September 1960!!
