Walking down the river from the bridge yesterday evening I saw 2 each Dippers, Kingfishers and Grey Wagtails. All individuals: no signs of family groups, although these may now have dispersed. Over the season, Dippers have been by far the most regularly seen of the three species here, followed by Grey Wagtails: Kingfishers feel a lot less numerous than 5 years ago.
Also a single heron and a mass of hurundines feeding over one field, largely House Martins and Swallows.
After dark a Barn Owl made a series of blood-curdling screeches.
