Wandering through a couple of stubble fields near Camrose, we saw about 60 or 70 Skylarks, thirty odd Meadow pipits and at least two dozen Yellowhammers, at one point I had six in the binoculars view at one time. More Yellowhammers than I have seen in many years. Counting precise numbers was difficult as they were very fidgety, moving along the hedgerow and back and fore to the field, so the 24 is an estimate, but by no means an exaggeration.
