Preselis and Broad Haven

Perfect day for a look around the Preselis. Pantmaenog alive with birds. Bullfinch by the dozen, Redpolls buzzing around, Reed bunting doing well. Willow tits giving their whezzy call just along the track from the car park. A Woodcock put up nearby. But it was the Crossbills up towards Bwlch-gwynt end that put on a show. I counted 30 moving excitedly between stands of conifers with more calling out of sight. Ty Rhyg by comparison was quiet, 3-4 Crossbills, but nice to see two groups of Willow tits.
A late afternoon walk between Broad Haven and Druidston. Broad Haven towards Little Haven: 168 Scoter, 2 Red-throated diver, 5 Wigeon. And a porpoise just off shore. Haroldston: 144 Scoter, a Guillemot, a Gannet, a Heron flying towards Newgale and then returning, and a male Kestrel. Druidston: 60 Scoter. Newgale from Druidston: 40 Scoter and a Red-throated diver.
