Marloes Peninsula
Derek and I did the second visit of the NT Farmland bird survey covering Trehills fields (Dave and Lisa will do West Hooks in due course). Generally fairly quiet, noticeably fewer Starlings this time, single highest count was c100 birds last year they were in the 1000s. Jackdaws similarly almost absent, probably better feeding opportunities elsewhere. A flock of 100 Chaffinch, but only a handful of Goldfinch and Linnet. 40 Lapwing heading towards Marloes or to the fields Derek located near St Ishmaels. Highlights were a brief view of a Jack Snipe in field behind Britton Hide, saw where it came down but couldn't locate it a second time, and a Peregrine hunting over the mere and taking a Teal and carrying it right over our heads.
