Cresswell River

A lovely walk down the Cresswell River yesterday afternoon. The tide was starting to flood, but the mud flats were still uncovered at c.1500.
What was really impressive was the sheer numbers of waders on view mid way between Cresswell and Lawrenny Quays:
- at least 100 each Lapwing, Curlew, Golden Plover and Oystercatcher
- probably 400-500 Dunlin
As well as a single Black-tailed Godwit.
Good numbers of Shelduck: 60+, including a group of 30+ on the Upton Farm bank.
But few other duck apart from a handfull of Mallard.
