We had a quiet stroll along the eastern arm path at Bosherston Lake
this afternoon. Waterfowl numbers were very low.
Coot numbers were barely in
double figures, and we only saw 9 goosanders (all in the upper Eastern arm
where a lone female-type tufted duck was also feeding). Four little grebes were
there too but one was clearly not welcomed by the other three.
Herons were getting down to breeding, probably at least two nests
occupied as far as we could tell. A great-spotted woodpecker was drumming. Other
than that, it was quiet.
Also, very sorry to hear about Peter Tithecott. Echoing what
Graham and Cliff have already said he was indeed a great character.
