Carew Mill

Eight little egrets (and two shelduck) were gathering on the shore below the mill as the tide came in, as the last few black-tailed godwit and teal were being pushed off the mud by the tide.

On the return leg, I finally managed shots of one of the blackcaps that have been teasing me for days. Meanwhile Firecrest Corner has been taken over by goldcrests, which are proving much harder than their cousins to photograph. This one has found what looks like a caterpillar in the ivy. Or is it nesting material?
