Martin’s Haven and environs

No sign of the Ring Ouzel this morning, but a lovely feel of lots of birds arriving and on the move today:
- still plenty of Willow Warblers in both the valley and Marloes Mere, with up to three in song early morning.
- Smaller numbers of Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs, with another of the latter ringed.
- 3 displaying male Wheatears along the Deer Park wall and the fences at the top of Renny’s Slip: a great sight and sound.
- We seem to have a pair of Kestrels back, with both male and female seen repeatedly today.
- Multiple Whimbrel heard calling high overhead mid-afternoon, seemingly moving West.
- A late flurry of Swallows and Sand Martins at 1900. Again, moving through quickly.
