Ridgeway

Walked up to the wheatear fields in glorious sunshine just now. Following Sash's post, a willow warbler was eyeing up St Mark's flies Bibio marci (St Mark's Day was on 25 April which is when they're meant to emerge).


Also, stunning views of two Greenland wheatears (the last sighting was on 26 April). I realise this is bordering on obsession, but these two permitted a closer approach than any seen thus far, with lovely views of the long wings. Several swallows the only hirundines.
