Ridgeway

Another garden warbler on territory in the rough pasture and scrub woodland between Stephen's Green and Houghton Farms - and, while I was waiting for a whitethroat to show itself, up popped a male yellowhammer. It perched briefly in an isolated ash tree, and then vanished. I haven't seen or heard one hereabouts for ages. I hung around but couldn't relocate it - I'll try again when it's less windy, now I know where to look.

Wheatear no.22 yesterday, another female.
