Real drama in our garden this morning, as a female Sparrowhawk flew into a group of Pigeons, catching one and pinning it to the ground. Within a short time, a Magpie appeared clearly trying to frighten off the Sparrowhawk, which defiantly stood it's ground. Then soon afterwards, two more Magpies appeared and attacked the Sparrowhawk, which flew off, as did the Pigeon minus some of it's feathers. As I grabbed for my camera to take what could have been some great photos, I found the battery needed replacing just at the crucial time.
