Quiet, for a while, One Greenshank, One Redshank. What did did disturb the peace was a Cormorant & the Two Shelducks having a scrap, with the Cormorant almost submerged attacking them from behind whilst their Ducklings skipped across the water at high speed to the bank, at one point the Cormorant looked like it was trying to drown one duck by holding it under the water but it was too strong & buoyant, and it was over in 30 seconds.
What did intrigue me was this insect - I`m thinking it was some kind of mimic Wasp - but not sure, it wasn`t as big as a Wasp & didn`t stay settled long enough to get a closer look, if one enlarges the picture it`s face looks like one of those animated cartoon creatures! I can`t find anything that ID`s it.
