Western Cleddau

A nice hat-trick of classic river birds on the Western Cleddau around Treffgarne Bridge yesterday evening:
- A pair of Grey Wagtails were accompanied by young.
- A pair of Dippers were clearly feeding young still in the nest. The adults zoomed up and down river noisily.
- The Kingfishers were more discrete, but they are hard to hide! I have seen many fewer on this stretch of the river compared to previous years, so a real pleasure to see two.

Tawny Owls calling from several places in the woods, and a Barn Owl on the fields.
More bats than I could shake a fly rod at. And an Otter at dusk, swimming up a pool towards me: it was pretty unconcerned by my presence.
